The County Intermediate Road Races were hosted today by Macamores AC in the picturesque village of Ballygarrett. Weather conditions were poor for the start of the Ladies 4k race, and with 15 club members taking part the starting line was a sea of purple and gold.  The course consisted of a loop with a fast downhill finish.

Following on from her success in the Novice Road Race, Julie Kirwan was the clear winner in a great time of 15.26 to win individual Gold and to lead the way for her club mates to win Team Gold and Team Bronze.  Another massive haul of medals for Slaney Olympic Ladies.

Directly after the Ladies Race, the Mens 8k Race began in better weather conditions, Slaney Olympic had 14 members taking part.  First home for the club in sixth place was Mick Jordan in 28.49, with the Slaney Men scoring 34 points and securing Team Silver.

Many thanks to everyone today who came down to cheer us on and support us, very much appreciated.  Next up is the Senior Road Race, hosted by SBR in Ferns on Sunday 24th.
