All-Ireland Cross-Country Championships

The Irish Life Health National and Juvenile Uneven XC Championships took place on Sunday at a very muddy Cow Park, Dunboyne, Co. Meath. In the last XC race of 2019, Slaney Olympic’s Ger Forde had a very strong performance in the 6000m Novice Men’s race where he brought home the Bronze Medal. This achievement caps off a great Autumn for Ger who won Gold at the County Senior XC on 13 October and placed 6th at the Senior Leinster XC on 10 November.  

AWARE Christmas 5 / 10K (Dublin)

At Phoenix Park (Dublin), two Slaney Olympic runners took part in the AWARE Christmas 5 / 10K where they both finished in the top 10 out of 777 entries (10K). Conaill Cooper was the first Slaney home with a time of 35:24 (8th overall) and he was closely followed by Sean Crotty who finished with time of 35:40 (10th overall).

Park Runs (Wexford)

Following their runs last weekend in the Wexford County Intermediate Cross Country, Will Doyle finished first overall with a time of 18:46 for his 29th Park Run. He was followed by Denis Whelan, who finished third overall, with a time of 19:46 for his 2nd Park Run. On the women’s side, Annis Kehoe clocked a time of 28:46 for her 116th Park Run.

Slaney Olympic Winter Time Trial Series

Slaney Olympic Club Members are encouraged to participate in the Winter Time Trial Series taking place on the following Tuesdays at 7.15 PM: 17/12/19 – 2k; 14/01/20 – 1 mile and 21/01/20 – 3k.

Upcoming Slaney Olympic Events

29 December – Christmas Cracker Training Run at 12.00 PM, Old Dublin Road. This will be followed by the Slaney Olympic Christmas Cracker Get-Together that will take place in The Bailey at 3.00 PM.

16 February – Enniscorthy 10k

Slaney Olympic was founded in 1991 to support the running community around Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford; located in the heart of Wexford, wearing the colours of Wexford.
