Sheridan Insurances Ferrycarrig Five Mile

Slaney Olympic had a great showing at the Ferrycarrig Five Mile on Sunday with 23 runners taking part in the race. In particular, Ger Forde had a great run finishing first overall out of 299 runners.

Grand Canal Lock Up the Year Trail Marathon

Many runners train months for one marathon, Marie Chapman wakes up, decides to put on her shoes and go out for an easy-breezy 26.2-mile run. Starting in Kildare and running back into Dublin along the Grand Canal, Marie completed her 149th marathon in 4:40:14 to close out 2019.  

New Years Park Run (Wexford)

Two Slaney Olympic runners started 2020 off with a Park Run at Wexford. Will Doyle held on by one second to finish first overall with a time of 17:55, this was his 31st Park Run. Annemarie Doyle had a great run as well completing her 33rd Park Run with a time of 23:36.

Park Runs (Wexford, New Ross)

At Wexford, Paul Browne was the first Slaney Olympic runner home with a time of 18:16 (PB) for his 8th Park Run. Annemarie Doyle clocked a time of 23:50 for her 34th Park Run; Eugene Kehoe completed his 17th Park Run with a time of 25:09 and Andy Staff finished his 102nd Park Run with a time of 26:48.

At New Ross, Andy Kehoe completed his 85th Park Run with a time of 37:56.

New Years Resolution2, 5k (5k)

For the past six years, Slaney Olympic Club Members Mag Dunphy and Martina O’Sullivan have organised a running group for beginners aptly called New Years Resolution2, 5k. On 1st January, a number of Slaney Olympic runners ran in the 5th annual New Years Resolution2, 5k run. This fun run collected €333 for the Enniscorthy Community Workshop. The New Years Resolution2, 5k train every Monday and Thursday night from 8 – 9 PM on the running track in Enniscorthy, all are welcome!

Creane & Creane Insurance Enniscorthy 10K

The Enniscorthy 10K will take place on Sunday (16 February 2020) at 12.00 PM (Lifestyle Fitness, on the Old Dublin Road, is serving as the HQ for the race). The route this year promises to be fast as there is a minimal 94-metre rise over the entire 10K route. Slaney Olympic Winter Time Trial Series

Slaney Olympic Club Members are encouraged to participate in the Winter Time Trial Series taking place on the following Tuesdays at 7.15 PM: 14/01/20 – 1 mile and 21/01/20 – 3k.

Slaney Olympic was founded in 1991 to support the running community around Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford; located in the heart of Wexford, wearing the colours of Wexford.
