The County Senior Road Race Championships took place on a glorious sunny afternoon on the 17th April with temperatures more typiclal of midsummer than late spring. With some of our runners away at the London Marathon and elsewhere our senior men still put up a good show to take second individual and team titles.

Annis was our only representative in the womens race over 5K which was won by Jackie Carty of host club, Kilmore, with Ciara Wilson of DMP in second place and Yvette Shovelin of St Killians third. Kilmore took the team title.

In the mens 10K race the battle was between our own Dave Barron who had won the Masters two weeks previously and Tom Hogan of Racing 795 who was defending his title. Tom took the honours in 33.10 with Dave an excellent second in 33.25. Tommy McElwaine of SBR was third in 34.20. SBR took the team title with 25 points with Slaney taking second (40points) and SBR (B) third on 77 points.
