Congratulations to Dawn Whelan and Mick Jordan who both finished in silver medal position in their respective races at the County Novice Cross Country Championships last Sunday. Well done also to the men’s team of Mick Jordan, Bobby Redmond, Brian Murphy and John O’Connor who took second place in the team event.
Dawn had a great run and just missed out on first place by a mere 3 seconds. Mick continues to race well finishing 16 seconds behind winner,Denis Moymihan of SBR and nearly a minute clear of third placed runner, Sean Murphy of US. Bobby and Brian put in good performances to finish in 6th and 12th positions respectively and a special word of thanks to the sterling John O’Connor who was commandeered onto the team at the last minute and ran a steady race resulting in a second place team finish for the club.
