The 8^th race in the Summer  Series was run on Friday evening 10^th September on the Old Dublin Road. This 2 miler was the last race in the Handicap Series but due to other local road races being held on the same weekend numbers were slightly down.  Nevertheless some very good times were achieved.  Kevin Murphy was 1^st home in a time of 10.24, followed by Martin Monaghan in 10.46, Mick Jordan 11.00, Fergus Murphy 11.35, Maurice Whitty 11.42 & Wayne Breen 11.53.

First lady to finish was Martina Conran in 13.47, followed by Mag Dunphy & Michelle Doyle. After the times were adjusted the Handicap winners were, in Group ‘A’ Wayne Breen, & Group ‘B’ Garry Murphy.
